Amy Kim Waschke is a classically trained actor and writer based in Los Angeles, CA. Most recently Ms. Waschke made a “commanding and heartbreaking” Off-Broadway debut in THE FAR COUNTRY by Lloyd Suh directed by Eric Ting at the Atlantic Theater Company. LA audiences last saw her in Geffen Playhouse’s production of REVENGE SONG  where the LA Times called her performance “vibrantly dangerous” and she was nominated for an LA Stage Alliance Ovation Award. Ms. Waschke has also appeared on Mythic Quest (AppleTV+), Law & Order SVU (NBC), Magnum P.I. (CBS) and NCIS: Los Angeles (CBS).

Ms. Waschke received her MFA from the University of Washington, training under Jon Jory, Catherine Madden, Robyn Hunt, and Steve Pearson.  After graduate school she moved to New York where she worked regularly with the Vampire Cowboys, led by playwright Qui Nguyen (Disney’s RAYA AND THE LAST DRAGON) and director Robert Ross Parker (REVENGE SONG). Ms. Waschke was the lead in many of their raucous, comic-book style comedies. In 2012, she met director, playwright and MacArthur Genius, Mary Zimmerman, and toured the US and China as the titular character in Zimmerman’s epic play THE WHITE SNAKE.

Ms. Waschke was also a six season company member of Oregon Shakespeare Festival (OSF) where notable roles include Hermione in THE WINTER’S TALE, Emilia in OTHELLO and Lady Macbeth in MACBETH. OSF made it possible for her to work on a single character for over 100 performances in a season. It is this kind of long term character development Ms. Waschke enjoys the most. She dreams of becoming a regular on a successful series like KILLING EVE, NEVER HAVE I EVER, STAR TREK DISCOVERY or SUCCESSION. To develop a character over many years feels like worthy goal and gratifying way to spend a life.
